Demo reboot pc after few minutes

Postby Fabre » Sun Mar 06, 2005 4:57 am

After a few minutes the demo crash and reboot my pc.

I tried several times and this occur every time.

There are 6 other games installed on this machine and they all run fine.

What info do you need to fix this bug?

Disabled a few task running in the background, and this time got a blue screen, and this time instead of rebooting straight away I got a blue screen.

Kmixer.sys was mentionned for causing the problem.

Found an another thread on this apparently it's a know issue with the Asus A7N8X montherboard range. ... php?t=1597

Hope there will be a fix for it.

I assume you've installed all the available software updates for your machine? Make sure all your motherboard/soundcard and other drivers are up to date, as well as ensuring you have the latest version of DirectX.

If that doesn't fix it, you'll have to wait until IV can take a look at it.

You assume well

Windows sp2 fully patched
latest ati driver
Latest nforce drivers (could try the beta though)
latest directx

I will try several things tomorrow, will post back if I found a way to fix it.

As far as I can see, this is a common problem that occurs in a lot of software and affects a lot of hardware, however, Microsoft have said to wait till the next Service Pack for a fix. Google about, maybe someones suggested something that might work for you.
