Attention All Users!

Postby danielwellsfloyd » Sat Nov 27, 2004 6:18 am

There is no reason to put a "Mac" in front of any of these posts. All Mac-specific bugs, no matter which class they may be in, are to be posted in the "Mac Specific Bugs" forum. Any posts inside the class a, b, and c forums are either PC specific, or apply to all platforms.

NOTE: There is also no reason to post a "Win" in front of any posts.

It's more a method of pointing out what system we are using, to help determine whether it is a Mac or PC bug.

When we encounter a bug, it doesn't put up a screaming red sign that says "MAC ONLY BUG"

In any case, yes, it's probably unnecessary, but it A) can't hurt and B) Sometimes it might help solve a bug that wouldn't seem platform specific, but actually is.

Attention Danielwellsfloyd: be quiet.

There are plenty of class a and class b bugs that could be platform specific, but they should be posted in here anyway, so the platform and phase tags are useful

I agree mostly with andcarne.

But my argument is: "Mac Specific Bugs" means bugs that happen only on a mac. If it happens on all platforms or just the PC, it should go into the class a-c forums. Now, I do understand someone doing it if they're not sure if the bug is platform specific or not.

Also, if I'm wrong in my logic, please feel free to correct me, Admin.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but surely you could only know if it was platform specific if you were on the beta with both machines, which I imagine most, if not all people aren't.

Yeah, I agree with you. If you don't know, I think you should post your platform.

I think you should post your platform all the time.

And I wasn't aware that danielwellsfloyd owns the forum...

Not once yet have I demanded or forced anything on anybody. I've stated opinions and argued those opinions.

Is that so? That sounds rather demanding to me... ¬_¬

I don't see a "POST IT IN THE MAC-SPECIFIC FORUM NOW!"

Anywho, that statement basically means: Mac-Specific Bugs = Macs-Specific Bugs

Let me speak slower and use small words you will be sure to understand...

This is telling people what to do.
Thus, it is demanding.

Understood? *pats danielwellsfloyd on the head*
