Victory Crash

Postby Janus » Sun Aug 29, 2004 2:17 pm

The game's help said 'Primary Objective Completed. Press ESC'. I pressed ESC and it crashed.

That would be the same as the crash on exit.

It only happens once I've won. I can exit normally otherwise.

Well, I guess there's some kind of "next mission briefing" screen supposed to show up. That's only a demo level though, so I would say this is normal behaviour.

Well, it could also be that its the random bug that makes it error on exit about 50% of the time :/

HS is right and I might also add that THIS BUG HAS ALREADY BEEN POSTED. Yes, this exact same bug.

I did a search before posting and didn't find anything. Would you care to point out the thread? Or are you just spouting off. You seem kind of hostile to me.

This ISN'T CRASH ON EXIT. I never get the Crash On Exit bug. The only time I have gotten a crash on exit is the one time that I beat the test level. The help message came up said, 'primary objective complete, press esc', I pressed ESC, and it crashed. I have never gotten the crash on exit any other time.

Edit: Of course, this could be caused by the same code issue as Crash On Exit, who knows. My point is that on my machine I don't see any bug resembling Crash On Exit, except for when I win.

Janus, the crash on exit bug appears to occur when you have been playing for a long time. Try running the game for a while and do some random things in it but don't complete the level. After a while, the game should run a little jerky...its at this point I believe the game becomes unstable. If you hit esc at this point the game should crash. Reply when you have tried this with the results. I'm curious :-)
