I wonder if it would be possible to make a darwinina in spore and have it able to survive. I'm guessing not since you probably need eyes and mouth and hands to get to civilisation mode. I wonder if you could genetically engineer your own species after it has built a civilisation, that way it could be completely backwards in evolutionary sense but still be able to survive.

There is nothing wrong with bumping old topics, per se. However, forums facilitate a form of communication and conversation -- a give and take. After a topic has grown to a certain age, the people that participated in that conversation have moved on to other things, and probably don't even care any longer (assuming they even remember the topic in the first place). Thus, if a topic is bumped so that a newbie can say "me too" or "cool" (as is the case here), the flow of conversation is gone, and the post doesn't make any sense, and doesn't need to be made. So, bumping old topics to say something interesting or new is fine, but bumping old topics to say basically nothing is generally frowned upon around here.
That, actually, is the other important thing. The culture of the boards here generally frowns on bumping. This may not be true of other boards. When in Rome... yes?
