Will there be a second Darwinia?

The title is the question.
I have enjoyed Darwinia alot and beat it 3 times already.
But I want to ask will there be a second Darwinia?

Short answer: no.

Long answer: no. There are mods, as is pointed out above, and there is Multiwinia, but Multiwinia is not really a sequel to Darwinia. It is really more the 'original vision' of the game -- i.e. multiplayer. In the past, IV have strongly stated that they do not believe that sequels are a worthwhile endeavor. Instead, they see sequels as a kind of 'selling out' or a grab for easy money. The creative minds at IV would rather explore new territory than rehash stuff that they have already done.
