I'm asking this because I tried to run Darwinia in stereoscopy with my Z800 visor, but:
1) I got no stereoscopy effect
2) I saw that the light on the control box was orange (and not green), meaning that the current scene is not 3D-accelerated.
This is why I'm asking: does Darwinia use software rendering? If it does, is there any hope for a patch to enable 3D acceleration? Running Darwinia in stereoscopy would be a dream come true!
Is Darwinia's rendering done in software?

That's definitely not the case. I can play in stereoscopy games like Quake 1, 2, 3 and 4, Hexen 2, Sin, Half-Life, Jedi Knight 2, Doom 3, Prey, Duke Nukem Manhattan Project and the modern ports of Doom, Heretic, Hexen, Duke3D and Shadow Warrior. They all use OpenGL and they all run in stereoscopy with no problems.
