It was a joke by Introversion. Caused a bit of a problem when it came out on Steam, if I remember.

no, i didn't download\steal the game, i actually went out and bought it at the store...

Hahahaha! That is still getting people! Hilarious!

There are several "bootloaders" that can run when you start Darwinia. Under default settings, they are selected randomly. One of these bootloaders looks like an old Amiga demo, and is probably what you are talking about.

Yeah I remember when I first saw it, I didn't really read it all or I would have gotten the joke

but I was thinking, wait a minute I didnt crack this game I bought it then I watched it again and was like ohhhhh

I usually always download nocd patches for my games but this one didnt need it, which was awesome

...the sad thing being that in most cases the people stupid enough to not 'get it' and yet who still know what it is a reference to are likely as not the kind of people who do pirate games. Except for folks in a professional state of paranoia, like those at Steam.

It's a Joke/ Easteregg.
Maybe you are a bit too young.
This is a Game Loader or Intro used in old Commodore/Amiga/Atari Warez.

Btw: Introversion has the best Copyprotection available: good games and reasonable prices.

haha, guess i should have read the whole thing , and yea, i know what they are, thats why i was confused when i saw it at the intro of the game, i used to have a bunch of the intro things back when i played doom, they came with the mods lol
