Darwinia 1.4.2 on Mac OS X 10.4.8

I'm stuck on the level where you have to make Armour for the first time and clean up the ants. I can't for the life of me figure out how to shot the cannons once I deploy them. I look at 3 buttons USB mouse to my MAC but that's not helping.

One very annoying "feature" of my cannons is when I left-click on them I gain altitude. Middle mouse button "zooms" closer to the cannon - letting go un-zooms. Right clicking does nothing.

How do I make these cannons work ?????????

Although it doesn't say it, they actually need Darwinians in them in order for them to function

Usher some over with an officer and they ought to start working. Once selected, you should fire them with exactly the same mouse clicks that make squaddies fire.

(if you're already doing the above then there's a real problem, this post is really just checking you haven't fallen into any of the usual pitfalls)

Thanks for reply. I had searched the forms before about this but didn't see anything - maybe I was blind. Right after posting my question I of course found a previous post about putting Darwinians into the Cannons and they began firing away at well

I am stuck on the same level...but i cant even get to where you are...how the heck did the beat the tons of spiders and such infront of the tank builder building...those stupid plants keep shooting more at me.
