Darwinians revert back to version 1
The Darwinians reverted back to version one when I went to the temple. Is this a bug in the game ? or did I do something wrong. All the other programs stayed the same. How do I change them back to version 4 ??

Which version (platform & revision level) are you running?
This question might attract more attention in the appropriate bug forum for the platform.

Here is what is supposed to happen:
1) Enter Temple
2) Cutscene starts -- because the cutscene shows the Darwinians before they have been upgraded, they are not supposed to have lasers of 'nades, so the script that runs the cutscene resets the Darwinian research item
3) Cutscene ends -- at the end of the cutscene, the research is supposed to go back to normal
Somewhere between 2 and 3, something happened. It doesn't really matter what. It could be a bug, it could be that you quit the game. Who knows? The important thing is that it can be fixed. First, you will need to grab a utility to decrypt the profile files. There is a whole thread on that here. There are better utilities toward the end of the thread. You will then have to find your user profile. The location of this depends upon your OS and installation method:
Find the file named game.txt. If you open it up, it should look like gibberish (though the first nine chars should read "redshirt2"). That is the encrypted file. Decrypt it, and open it up again. Down a bit, you should see a section marked "Research_BeginDefinition" or some such. It will have a list of all of the research items in the game, how many levels you have in that item, and how many points have been applied toward it. Bump the Darwinians back up to level 4, save the file, and you are done. You don't have to reencrypt it -- Darwinia understands the unencrypted version. Just make sure that it is named game.txt, and is in the correct directory.
If that is too much work, paste the contents of game.txt into this thread (using the code tags, please), and I or someone else will decrypt it for you.
Failing that, let me know where you live, and I will drop by on my way home from work. :)

-ShepFanI knew I forgot something! I just copied the text from xyzyxx's FAQ thread. The quoted text is from his section on getting mods to work. He used my mod as an example. I should have changed it, and have done so -- we are worried about user profiles, not mods

I'm glad I'm not losing my mind! I figured your Level 5 powers were somehow magically at work!
