is it worth it?
i am sorry if this has been posted before, but i am just really careful when buying games and want to make sure if a game is good before i buy it.
I played darwinia and uplink demo, both seem cool but a little shallow as there isnt that much to it and it seems as if it could get repetitive just walking with a squad and shooting red viruses or hacking into computers one at a time.
I just wanted to ask, is darwinia a good game??? its not very popular and not many sales i hear but people say its quite good... i dont know if its worth buying. IS IT THAT GOOD? is it repetitive??? should i wait for defcon??? when does defcon come out?

If you post the question, "Is Darwinia a good game?" on the official Darwinia forums, you already know what answer you're going to get, as only the people who really enjoyed the game hang out here.
Darwinia is a great game, it is not repetitive (although a bit short, but there are mods to fix that) and it is anything but shallow. It is a fun, unique, moving, powerful and awe-inspiring game. Darwinia pulls you into the game world in a way that makes you care for the Darwinians. It is something you must experience to believe.
The demo, while great, doesn't have as much of that emotion in it as the rest of the game has. It is better to play after you've completed the full game.
The Darwinians' fate is in your hands. The choice now is up to you.

That is nearly the same as asking if an apple is better than an orange. Darwinia, Defcon and Uplink rely on diffrent game mechanics to deliver entertainment.
Uplink uses your own paranoia and pressure to make the game fun, as there's nothing more chilling than hearing the beeps of the trace tracker while you're doing a hack.
Darwinia uses its powerfull story to make you care about the Darwinians, to the point where you sometimes have to question yourself as to if it could be real or not.
Defcon simulates all out nuclear war, and thus is a game that relies on stratagy as much as luck for a decent fun game.

NeoThermic is correct, as always.
If I were you, I'd buy them all. If you can only buy one, choose what one, you think that you'd like most, and buy it, cherish it, and save up money for the other two.
Yes, Darwinia is worth buying.
So is Uplink.
And Defcon, well, I'd be advertising that too if I got into the alpha.

When is Defcon coming out?
Excellent question, If you know, you could win a free copy, therefore, that question shall remain unanswered. It'll (hopefully) be this year, though.
You can buy Uplink and Darwinia from the Introversion Store, and Darwinia is also avaliable on steam.
If you buy the games from the Introversion store, you get the box shipped to you.
Nothing can stop you now. (feel free to laugh like an evil genius at this point).
I personally enjoy all 3 of their games for their own reasons.... uplink because like neothermic said the suspense just makes it extremely worth it to me, and plus it gives you a really well laid out hollywood style hacking game.. unlike alot of the others out there uplinks actually fun to play. darwinia because its, also like neothermic stated, captivating and the story gets you really involved in the game, you actually start getting upset even if its just a lil bit when the darwinians get killed. it also reminds me of lemmings, but only because it puts in a god type roll over the mindless drones. <SNIP> i dont personally recall a NDA but ill remove this just incase, if anyone could verify this for me it would be appreciated </Snip>
So as you can tell each game has its strong points and I would reccomend any of the games for purchase.

Other helpfull indicators include, but are not limited to:
- faces
- sarcasm, joke or other meta tags
- really funny humour
Also, I noted you put "humour". Have you not been Americanised (or is that zed?) into dropping random 'u's from words?

If they do beta testing anything like the way they did for Darwinia, folks who are testing the full game will be required to sign an NDA.
