thanks alot guys - theres plenty there for me to think about. id do plush gear but my sowing skillz are l4m3. I think a lmap will be good - i have some ideas, i will do some sketches and post them and see what you think.

Dr S 50quid note/gift cert thas a wiked idea. Get me a good pic of the doc and ill have my mate joe hu is doing graphics to have a looky at it...

I'd love to have a mug with one of the little guys on it, and I am waiting for someone to give NeoThermic the go ahead to make more t-shirts

As far as I'm aware, T-shirts would have to be done on a pre-order basis, since its far cheaper production wise to do a larger batch than a smaller one (obviously).

I can see it being possible to run shirts at £15 ea., possibly the same design as the DRP (sans DRP text), and mabey an "evil" shirt (virii and such on it).


As for mugs... these could be far cheaper, say £10 ea. (I can get mugs done at the same place I got the DRP shirts done...). xander, seeing as you like the idea of a mug and suggested it first, why not hammer out a design?

I'm still wating to find out what was chosen about the shirts, as I'm sure that they would sell well.

So, IV, I'm back in Luton (and thus near my supplier) on Wednesday... how about it?

For a mug, I like the idea of a very simple, glossy black mug with a DG on one side, and perhaps something like "Darwinia: a digital dreamscape by Introversion Software" on the other in white, Darwinia-font letters. My ability to design graphics are teh sux, but maybe something like this:



Again, my artistic abilities are nil, but that is the general impression of the mug that I would love to see.

and ma your design skills are nt teh sux infact they are pretty good. You could get an A level in design with tem skillz if not more really though 10quid - £10, i mean id rahter buy a t-shirt for 15quid...
ive come down to some final ideas fr my project - ill render some of them and post when they are ready and let you guys see... for now though, i have a really strong craving for some 0110101001101111011001010000110100001010............

I would love to, except my mac, which I had done ALL of my graphics/sound design on, is still dead.

I need to find a way to get Photoshop fr the PC. Maybe that would help. Except all my expensive plugs are on the Mac. *sigh*

The other thought that I had was a DG in the Santa Hat on a white background. In green letters: "I'm dreaming of green Christmas". But that just seemed to cheesy for words, and kind of obscure... how many people have played Darwinia on Chrismas yet?

My point exactly. Though I would have you note that Chirstmas does not have the same significance for the DGs as it does for the rest of you. You see, one Christmas, Dr. S returned to the office after much drinking. He started playing with the code, but accidently left off a semi-colon in a very important block. This caused the rendering engine to barf, and the atmosphere was filled with pseudo-souls that fell to the ground, as in Reciever. The pseudo-souls covered the ground, looking much like snow. The Darwinians saw this as a bad omen -- a sign that the Soul Repository had broken, and was no longer processing souls. All of the then living Darwinians felt great tribulation at their impending doom. Among the Darwinians that survive from that day, the red hat with the white tassle is an important symbol -- the red represents the color of a real soul, and dominates the hat. It is an image of life. However, the white tassle represents the fake souls, and can be seen as an image of death -- not just death with reincarnation, but permanent death.

Interestingly enough, Dr. S fixed the code, and nothing really bad every happened, but this -- not the Soul Destroyers -- was the first taste of ever lasting death that the Darwinians ever had. It was a very important formative experience in the history of Darwinia.
