This is a screen-saver (badly) imitating the falling souls boot-loader.
You must have a Mac running OS 10.4 Tiger. Other people are working on porting it to the windows platform, but this is a relatively recent animation codec, so the chances are low. However, if you can run it, here's how to make it work:
1. Download (Link above)
1a. (Optional) You can preview it in QuickTime if you want to
2. Drag it to user/Library/Screensavers
3. Open System Preferences
4. Go to screen-saver/desktop picture
5. Select the file (it'll be below the separator)
However, there are some issues. The Darwinians fall too fast, and it's choppy when the RSS article changes. This will be fixed at a later date.
Please feel free to leave comments and questions. And if you have quartz composer installed on your computer (HD/Developer/Applications/Graphics) you can edit it to your hearts content.

Does this do it?

Or you could create two similar squares, one inside the other, then rotate them 45 degrees. The inner square should be #83ff83 and the outside should be #336733 . Put it on a black background, and life should be good.

Thanks. I can use this. And news on the windows port: Nada. I've been informed that the method used to create this animation is a proprietary closed source, so no go on that one. Someone might be able to recreate the effect (maybe even better than me), but there is no feasible way to port it at this time.

I got bored and made myself a horribly bloated CPU intensive version for windows, yay for 2048x1536, hehe.
