*Sniff* On the same day I'm rejected from the Darwinia Beta I get my exam results back. Guess who's having to re-sit? Yay, what a great day. *Sniff*

I think I'll flame you out of spite.

Err...

You are a very bad man!!

Take that!

Anyway, in the hope of getting into the Beta in the next batch of testers, I'd like the opinion of you, the people, to decide which of these systems would more likely be selected.

CPU: INTEL P4 M @ 1400Mhz
RAM: 512MB DDR
Sound: Realtek AC97 Audio
Graphics: Intel(R) 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics Controller @ 64MB
OS: Windows 2K Service Pack 4

OR

CPU: AMD Athlon Slot A @ 800Mhz
RAM: 128MB SD
Sound: Sound Blaster Live 5.1
Graphics: Kyro 3D Prophet 4000XT 64MB SDR PCI
OS: Windows 2K Service Pack 4

Any advice would be appreciated... and possibly discarded depending on whether or not I think you're just trying to eliminate the competition. :)

My advice: Apply with both under two different forum users. The initial choosing is based on your system not your posting. So if one gets through and not the other then use that from then on!

And if both get through........ six possible betas! But do you have six PCs?
If you see Kaye, why owe you?

It would be kinda unfair if both usernames were picked... I mean the person would have to do TWICE as much beta testing :P

Try it again. There have been some problems with certain hardware, but I think they've all been solved now.

He has. I've been discussing on IRC with him, we suspect it's his graphics card to blame.

Back on the topic of the moaning rejects, I think that maybe the beta submission form should be more specific for graphics cards. I had to select "Other Graphics Card" because my onboard graphics adapter, my Kyro card and my TNT card were not available. I am not suggesting that IV add every graphics card under the sun to their list but they should (IMHO) think about having it so that you can type in your graphics card name if it is not on the list.

Oh yeah, I also have a VooDoo2. Hmm... I wonder if Darwinia will support 3dfx Glide. :)

The SysInfo tool will detect your graphics card if you're selected anyway. The only reason "Other" is there, I assume, is so that Chris can see how it runs on their "unsupported" cards.

I wasn't selected, that's why I'm moaning :)

Surely if IV wants to test "unsupported" cards then they will want to know what card you have that they don't support. I mean it wouldn't do any good to have 20 people all with the same "unsupported" card, now would it?

Anyway, the only reason that I brought it up was that I was unhappy at being rejected and I doubt that many, if any, people who entered had the same graphics card(s) as me. Well, I've still got the next group of testers to look forward to and hopefully I'll be selected then (Pretty please IV? With sugar and pop-tarts on top?) :)

O...M....G I can't believe it I wasn't selected for the beta.

That tears it. I'm going out and buying a $250 cpu right now....or maybe a six pack, I'll have to think about it. 8)

I apparently have them too.

The way I see it, we have 3 options:

1: We could rally the rejects and storm Introversion HQ. Then steal the Darwinia Beta and escape in a blaze of glory.

2: We buy Chris and the others some nice gifts to help them decide who to pick for the next lot of testers. Maybe they could use some new hats...

3: We ask how the Voice Analyser works and say that we've lost our code cards until IV gives us the beta to shut us up.

Answers on a post (-card). :)
