The time is at hand!
Well, it looks like Phase One of Darwinia beta testing should be starting soon. I just wanted to say, good luck everyone. Darwinia is sure to be a fun game. Chances are that these forums will somewhat die when the beta test opens, as many of the active people will probably be part of the beta test, and posting in the beta forums.
Message to (most) n00bs: If you don't get picked, don't go send hate mail to Introversion or anything like that. We're all here for fun, and the game is sure to be a blast.
Let's all here it for Darwinia, and, more importantly, Introversion!
P.S. YAY FOR 100 POSTS!

You're really odd, dan. Anyway, reading up on Chris' news post that was written 20th June, he said it would be about three weeks before starting. So assuming he means the 11th we're still one and a half weeks away...thats ages! Just think of how many games of CS you could run in that time!

Guess that's the beauty of indie gaming. Who wants to work for a corporation who not only sits behind you with a whip, but also takes most of the money from YOUR hard work and leaves you with, guess what, just more hard work and more whipping.
As for the beta-testing, I'm not gonna be too upset if I'm not chosen. I did beta-testing once (just for a couple of friends who made a little game), and in the beginning, it wasn't very pleasant. Getting kicked out constantly, running into bugs the size of your house... And by the the time the actual full game is done, you're over it. All the bugs you found, all the times you had to do that one part over and over and over again... it spoils the end product.
But maybe my friends just weren't really good programmers. We've seen what IV can do, so hopefully it won't be the same for all the beta testers as it was for me back then.
btw, I signed up for beta testing for 2 reasons
1) To help the community. I'm a HUGE fan of indie gaming and I decided it's time I did my part to help out
2) That bit about the complimetary copy of the game... Getting free shit rocks, especially if it's cool, and ESPECIALLY in South Africa where you practically pay to breathe.
Ra for, uh, something...? My brain just switched off...
