Map list, Mod list, File list, What list?

Postby zach » Thu Sep 25, 2008 5:55 pm

It seems there has been a trend in multiple efforts for the same features *hint*ladder*hint*, so I figured I might as well ready this up to at least announce it. It'll be some days before it's ready to be raped by the public, though.

As usual, nothing is final. The banner is temporary, the website only works in Chrome and Firefox so far, and I still need quite a lot of the interface. The whole database is up and running, though.

There will be a map:

There will be a map list:

There will be screenshots:

There will be files:

There will even be file hosting:

Please share your thoughts/opinions, and mention obvious lackings I've overlooked. Thank you :)

I suggust a name change for the tagline as the trout aren't smashed, how about, "Smashing trout since 2002" (when Introversion was founded... or 2001 for when Uplink was released)? And reserve the current one for error messages.
Uplink help: Check out the Guide or FAQ.
Latest Uplink patch is v1.55.

I plead guilty, although there is just one person who spent time on a similar project and has said that he'll continue working on it, so in the end not everything went to waste here. Besides, I've been offered help by this same person (amongst others) so I say case closed. ;)

I also agree with Montyphy that the tagline deserves a change, however I'd go for the derivative that we made for the metaserver: burnt salmon. :P

There is nothing wrong with multiple people working on simualr things. Each persons idea is different there all for the benifit of the comunity more then the author.

Still; sites looking good though! :)

Looking good! Should be very useful once the map editor is released. :D

And I wholeheartedly approve of your choice of maps ;)

Be sure to include the "God Gate" model some where. That is after all the way the Darwinians / Multiwinians download or upload things to the internet.

But why would you want to match this? We don't need redundancy :P
