Crash issue every 20 or so minutes.

Postby ArmoredDice » Sun Jun 27, 2010 4:10 pm

Loving the game.

The game runs perfectly fine on my pc. But it doesnt matter what type of game i am playing, after 20-30 minutes the game just shuts off, even in multiplayer it will still shut off.

i am running the game at the highest specs

System:

intel(R) Core(tm) I7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHZ 2.67GHZ
Ram 4.00GB
64bit operating system

I hope this helps, and will fix the proglem soon.

--- edit.

I bought the game off steam

I jsut got a windows 7 PC on the weekend, so I tested this issue just then. It happened to me, about 15 minutes into the game. The amount of memory taken up by MW was steadily increasing throughout the game and was at ~1.5GB (out of 12GB) when the game crashed. The game caught its own memory leak?

I run windows 7 64bit without a problem aside when running at high resoution and dawnians get corrupted but otherwise its fine; it could be a software conflicting with the game or your hardware just isnt supported

How long have you actually played the game in one go? I have the graphic glitch as well, not sure why. Have task manager open when you play it next, see if the amount of memory taken up by the program slowly increases.

i think its because of the drivers for ATI cards just isnt compatable with the game because i even have 7gb of ram cause i run servers and also a quad core processor; and it works perfectly fine on my laptop without crashing; ive already done a 1 hour test for this computer and it never crashed; same with the laptop

Have you tried compatability mode? You will need to find the multiwinia exe in the steamapps folder.

Wait, really? You mean in the CCC right?

Huh, that does work.

Still doesn't fix the memory leak, but at least your problem is solved.

sooo quick question, is there a fix coming for this problem? I really enjoy the game, but i do not want it to crash on me after 10-20minutes.

I'm not sure, although they did hint that they will release new stuff for Darwinia/Multiwinia.

Would you by any chance be running Professional/Ultimate/Enterprise? If so, this may be a solution to your problem. Not the best solution but a solution none the less.
