Hi,
I'm a demo user and the game kindly asked me to post this file here, which I'm glad to do. :-)

Cheers, Al

Hey. Any chance you could tell us what happened just before the sync error? Also it would be good to know who you were playing against at the time.

It's most useful when we have the sync logs from all the players.

Any chance you could either tell us who you were playing, or tell us who's server it was on and at what time.

Also, what's your in-game name?

Sorry guys, I have no clue who I was playing with (is the community really that small? ;). Regarding the server I can confirm it was one of NeoThermic's Demo Servers and the trace file's timestamp is 22:19:54 CET (GMT+1), so maybe that helps you track it down in the logs.

What is your in-game name, and what is your keyID? (you can find the latter in your debug.txt)

He's a demo user ;) Also, in some cases, recording + one sync log may be enough information.

I wonder why the filenames are wrong. I'm quite sure Dedwinia is sending correct timestamps.

Nope. It's been giving me logs from 1969-1970.

Ah, duh :) It's the Windows Dedwinia build version, I bet. Time is handled differently there, and I probably forgot to adapt this rarely used execution path.

Code: Select all

Received Authentication : DEMOWK-SWMXXH-KLSJOL-KQCTEA-HZQ : (keyID -1) : Accepted
Auth Key accepted as DEMOKEY : DEMOWK-SWMXXH-KLSJOL-KQCTEA-HZQ

And my in-game name is NewPlayer.

... just kidding, it probably was something starting with "al_" ;-)

The only matching set of conditions (username starts al_, there was a desync) is this game:

Demo server game 10-27-21 05:49 UTC log
Demo server game 10-27-21 05:49 UTC recording

The event log says it's my fault. It tries to reconnect a player, which is of course not at all supported by the client. Luckily, it happened after the game was already over.
