Patch wants to load every time

WHen I start Multiwinia it's now downloading a new set of files (apparently the patch) upon startup. When I go to "Help and Options" it still says "Patch available. When I shut down and restart Multiwinia again it downloads the new files again.
It appears that my game is not recognizing that it's already been patched. Is there something I can do to fix this?
Thank you

The question is, has it really been patched? What version is it showing in the lower right corner?

It seems to be failing the installation.
What OS are you running?
If Vista, try running the Auto Updater with administration privileges (odd if so, considering Vista should be ASKING you if you want to give it the privileges anyway).
Also, just to make sure, don't ever press the play button on the Auto Updater, this can interrupt the install/download.

I noticed that if I ran autoupdate (on vista with UAC enabled) and I went away from my computer and did something else, if I didn't accept UAC's prompt to install the patch..it wouldn't be installed. It would just go away and Multiwinia would start unpatched.
Maybe that's your problem?

Well, that means the patching failed. 1.2.0 is the version currently handed out.
Check that you have sufficient writing rights in the installation directory (for example by trying to create a file there). Check that the autopatcher is not running in some compatibility mode. If you don't have write rights, start the autopatcher as administrator. If all else fails, download the complete current version from the main website.

Could please post your autopatch_debug.txt (remove your authkey, locate it with 'Open Multiwinia Profile' Windows start menu shortcut)

as bert said check if you have the sufficient writing rights. if you don't add yourself Member of : Power User in the computer management console.
administrator rights isn't really necessary as this is why ppl's machine get compromised anyway by running everyday task as Admin.

It doesn't appear that I have a autopatch_debug.txt in any of the multiwinia directories. I do see 3 backup directories as if Multiwinia has been backed up. Those directory names are :
09/27/2008 04:34 PM <DIR> backup_20080927_01
10/15/2008 04:49 PM <DIR> backup_20081015_01
10/26/2008 05:12 PM <DIR> backup_20081026_01
I am running as an administrator and I can create a file in the c:\ProgramFiles\Multivinia directory.
I'll do a search for autopatch_debug.txt to see if It's anywhere else on my hard drive (maybe in a temp directory)
I'll let you know what I find out.
And thank you for the kind responses. I appreciate it.

OK, that's odd. Today Multiwinia started up without downloading the patch and the version number now says 1.2.0
So somehow, it's now patched. I think we're all fixed up.

Ah ok didn't know you had XP, so UAC wasn't sure issue eh? Indeed.
Would be difficult (possibly) to diagnose this bug, but at least it corrected itself.
