Connection problems and authentication

Hi,
I bought MW through Steam. The singel player part works great, but whenever I try to play online I get this "Requesting server list" all the time.
In the main menu it says "Authentication status unknown", so I guess there's something wrong. I have opened port 4000 and 4001 in the firewall, and Windows Firewall is turned off.
Does anyone know how I can fix this? I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem.
Thanks.

The errors are caused by MW being unable to reach the metaserver. Could you do this:
Click start->Run..
enter "cmd"
enter "ping metaserver-mw.introversion.co.uk"
paste the output here?
This is how it looks for me:

These beasts are your problem, it seems:

Only someone who knows about the internal networking stuff can help you further, I'm afraid.

Guess I'll have to wait for a replay from one of the devs then. Or maybe there will be some sort of update in the near future.

Seems there is still something blocking Multiwinia,
What are yours Anti-Virus/Anti-Spyware/Firewall/Content Filtering softwares?
Forwarding ports shouldn't matters, it's useful to get people to connect to your game, not for you to connect to the metaserver or joining game.

You might try going into options/other options and changing the ports used from 4000/4001 to something else, eg 5000/5001. I'm guessing you have another network program already using one of our ports and Multiwinia isn't handling it properly.

Hmmm. Somehow my authentication status is accepted today. I don't think I did anything, but somehow MW can communicate with the metaserver now.
I've had this problem for over two days, and now it fixed itself.
Anyways, I want to thank everyone that has tried to help me!
