Introversion

As much fun as I'm having with this great game, I'm having a terrible time in games with more than two players. Most of the time, after about ten minutes a synchronization error emerges. After one minute of waiting, the host gives up and all joined players lose connection to the server. This happened to me four times today.

Do other players encounter this as much as me?
Is there a fix in the works?

Introversion can't find out what caused the sync errors unless everyone in the game uploads their syncerror log for that game. Unfortunately, coordination of this kind is impossible, because most people playing apparently don't want to help, but complain when it happens anyway.

Was that aimed at me? If yes, you're pretty fast on the draw. How should I know that there's a syncerror log, or that I could upload it anywhere?
The real problem is that when people lose connection to the out-of-sync game, there is no way to coordinate sending a log without communication.
So I'd really like to help if I can, but first I want to know how I can.

No, it was aimed at people I played games with when I got sync errors. They couldn't be bothered. :'(

Since it's pointless only uploading YOUR logs, the next best thing would be knowing:

• The map you were playing on.
• Whether there were any special settings (like initial powerups).
• And what was happening at the time.

Hopefully, it can be reproduced and Introversion can discover exactly what causes the different clients to simulate the game differently.

Thanks, Rabid. At least now I know what I'm supposed to do. I'll try to notify the people I'm playing with when syncerror strikes again, during that last minute before we're thrown off the malfunctioning server.

i feel like im a sync bug guy. everytime i join a server it gets that error and i feel its my fault. i have the error logs and junk. should i post them somewhere?

Who can I send my sync logs and relevant info to?

Ive been playing the multiplayer part of multiwinia from release date, just about everyday and encountered only 1 sync error-and I was hosting without forwaring my ports and I think that was my problem but I'm not sure.

are you hosting hasslmaster? maybe you could try forwarding ports, if you are a hoster or if havent already..which I think you need to anyways.

I'm having these sync errors too. It happens every two games I play aproximately after 5 or 10 minutes.

My feeling is that it occurs when there's a lot happening in the party like on assault maps.

But I am playing on a 8 cores macintosh with a window emulation (Bootcamp) and some players ingame said this could cause the problem.

I'll try to get some more detailed log info when it occurs next time.

As I said I am playing on a 8 Cores macintosh with Bootcamp on windoxs XP.
I forgot to say also that the game make a sync_error no matter if I am hosting the party or not and even after the crash I can still chat with other players.

Yes, that's normal and intended. The idea is that you chat with the others and convince them all to upload the files RabidZombie mentioned so the problem can be debugged.

Bootcamp's not emulation, it's simply dual-booting to real Windows - if you are using BootCamp, it won't be the cause of the sync errors - an Intel Mac is just a normal PC with a white case and a tripled price tag.

I'm so tired of these SYNC errors.... the most stupid thing is that game stops but we all can still chat...

I'm having this problem on playing Domination - The Great Tree map, ether I'm a host or a player.... error appears randomly in time

No real idea. One of my boxes cannot join games. Ever.
It hosts fine, but desyncs before game start if I try to join.

Which makes no sense.
