I think that if one player is extremely skilled he can beat a person who is very lucky. Sometimes, battles do come down to getting good crates, but not always. I played a battle where I got no crates and my opponent got at least 10, but I still one the battle.

I would have to say that probably at least 90% of the time, (i will agree that 4 players is somewhat uncontrollable unless you really know what you're doing) that the dominant deciding factor in this game is skill. As for the remaining 10%, (i'm speaking in generalized numbers here) i wouldn't even say that nukes and meteor showers are the largest luck factor, but rather Evilinians showing up and slowing one player down while everyone else is making progress, and any of the turrets (especially flame turrets).

As for Futurewinians, at least in my experience, they are rarely ever a deciding luck factor, as I have played many games, and their ship has appeared a lot, but they've only actually dropped down troops twice, the first time i got owned pretty badly, the second time I was able to take them out before they spawned more guys.

Evilwinians? Pah!

Plague at your only set of spawn points, with the MW's operating the points infected, THAT's a problem.

If you can react fast enough, Plague can be dealt with. You create formations and send them away from the spawn. The ones that stay back you start promoting and terminating.
This does leave you vulnerable to attack, but it's better than the plague spreading.

I think Infection(the Evilinians) are much worse to have near your spawn. More than slowing down, they can make you lose instantly.

I have lost from that scenario before.

I believe , just like real in real warfare, multiwinia is equal parts luck and skill. getting a good crate, your enemy slipping up and making a mistake or your enemy getting a bad crate is all luck, but exploiting those situations in the right way to tip the balance into your favor is skill.
