Napalm doesn't burn trees

Postby Tricycle21 » Sat Sep 20, 2008 2:31 pm

Per title.
Airstrikes do burn trees, but napalm strikes don't.
Tested with dark forests and normal forests, but not magical forests yet, however I suspect magical ones won't, either.

I've often found it rather hard to burn up trees with napalm strikes. I find the igniting somewhat random from grenades (and all the more hilarious becuase of it) but there have been numerous times when I've sent a napalm strike directly over a dark forest or the Holy Tree and nothing to happen, I'm guessing because the bombers didn't hit exactly the trunk of the tree.

I have noticed the same thing. I have also noticed that rocket turrets don't destroy ants nests.

I've noticed that gun turrets can destroy ant nests and other structures, but can't seem to damage other Turrets. Bug or feature?

Any Multiwinians too close to a burning tree will be set on fire.

Burning trees set other trees burning.

A shame they can't set the soul destroyers on fire though. Imagine how fun THAT would be :D

Napalm should set trees on fire; this is a bug in my mind. Napalm should also burn for longer, being an area denial attack. Right now it's sort of... useless.

Well by definition napalm is essentially burning goop. The reason why it was used was because it clings to stuff while it burns, and it was cheaper than the alternative during world war 2, so it was adopted.

...which I think would be cool if it worked the way it was supposed to. Like the ground would stay on fire for a few seconds wherever there was a napalm strike. Right now it seems to be just fire in a given area.
