100% effective strategy for defending Third Kind assault

Postby Pants » Sun Sep 21, 2008 8:49 pm

I've found a devious way to defend the Third Kind map...

Step one: completely ignore red. They can't win anyway, so let them try.

Just take an armored personnel carrier full of MWGs over to their island, make a formation and just barely poke it through the force field. They shoot all the futurewinians like they're in a barrel.

By the time red is able to collapse the forcefield to free the futurewinians, they're all dead.

There isn't any way at all that red can win, that I've been able to find. If they get REALLY lucky with crates they can cause problems, but nobody is allowed to deploy crate goodies on the forcefield island, so the main forcefield stays powered forever. Red is doomed.

Bug? Feature?

Scum! If you hadn't pulled that then I would've won that game earlier. Being cheated of victory makes me a sad multiwinian :( . But yeah, I think that map needs a little redesign, just removing the controllable multiwinians from the island would probably be enough to fix it.

A few force-field changes and this shouldn't be possible.

Already reported as a bug. here.

Impossible, as in, unwinnable? If the GLARING EXPLOIT is what made it possible for you, practice is very strongly recommended.

If you mean it breaks, then...
