Players kicking Players [..I am back..]

Hello there,
it is nice to see that people have started to play Multiwinia again and to see players who still play this amazing game. I need to mention that I had a 2-years break in Multiwinia. Today I took a look into Multiwinia to see or check some online players, if people still play this. Yes, they do!! I joined a 3p CTS game and lost with only 2 captured statues while the 2nd player had 4 and the 1st player almost 5 statues. The host asked me, if I am serious so I answered. I described directly after the game into chat, that I had almost a 2-years break. That is why I lost that bad in my 1st game after years.

Well, it seems that Multiwinia players are connected to each other. Everyone kicks me out of lobbies after my failure. I am NOT able to play online with you. What's wrong?! You even DON'T give me a chance to resurrect back my Multiwinia skills...

In the past I had started to play Darwinia on its release day. I had started to play Multiwinia directly on its release day as well. The dreams of a Darwinia player was: Darwinia in an online multiplayer mode. In year 2008, it really had been released. I had played Multiwinia all day, none was able to beat me. Really, none in my hosted rooms or rooms I did join. There were many random players online. In my best times, it was easy to beat 3 attacking enemies at once. After months, the time did change in the Multiwinia Universe. The community wished and asked for a lot of improvements and fixes for this game, of course. It was bugged, had no chat module, balancing and network issues, etc... I think the most of you remember back those issues. The developers tried their best but acted a bit too late. We all knew, if the devs don't do anything asap so Multiwinia is about to die. Deadwinia was born.

After months of playing I was the only guy online and waited for players without a success. It seemed that I was alone there. No more players went online and a lot of empty dedicated servers were online as well, for a hope to resurrect back Multiwinia. Well, I did a 2-years break until today. Now I will be kicked out of nearly all games. What's wrong with you?! Don't you need more players?! Seems not... I was pissed today!! No, really!! If you don't give a chance to newbies or veterans who need to gain back their skills, hmm, ... think about it. You will make it worse by kicking out players instead to let them join and try to re-resurrect Multiwinia step by step. You know and/or hopefully understand this issue.

I will re-check Multiwinia later. Maybe tomorrow. I hope you are going to change your mind and don't be childish in future. Let those players inside, damn it!! I really wish to re-play some great Multiwinia games with you and NOT with myself. Has this community really changed that strong and badly after 2 years?! Hopefully not.

I am open for some comments inside this thread. I "will" ignore childish or inconsequential/unimportant posts.
See you in-game.

BEST REGARDS

http://www.humblebundle.com/ - this should explain why people are playing it now (your post sounds like you didn't know about it)

That sounds horrible. :(

The HumbleBundle is looking good. Thx for the smart reply. I just had a "small" break. Who doesn't sometimes need it?!
I hope Multiwinia will gain more players within the HumbleBundle in the near future. It is still one of my all-time favourite games and it would be amazing to really see more players there.
Bugs have been erased, game is improved, ... and I still don't get it why Multiwinia hasn't kept more players for the past 2 years. It is about time, I guess.

Multiplayer games always die fast unless they get updated with new content very often.

Multiwinia had 2-3 revivals after 1.3.0, first revival I remember was somewhere in 2010 during autumn. Lots of players, but everyone kicked me, so I couldn't even play with others and there were no dedicated DEMO servers, well at least for me (I was DEMO back then).
This is second revival. Like in first revival, rarely someone cares about other people to play, so they kick them. And there's password protection for private servers. I managed to join some servers, and I host mine with overriden settings. The only thing I'm wondering is that back then, dedicated servers were always full, now they seem to be a bit idle than before...
There might be some other revival before, but I'm not sure when it was, maybe it never happened.

This community went idle a lot. Check some blogs, source code is released long time ago, and still nobody made any bugfix/mod. Without any new changes, no wonder that nobody cares about it that much.

After months of playing I was the only guy online and waited for players without a success.

You weren't alone. Back then, I was doing same thing, but kind of rarely...

Seems not... I was pissed today!! No, really!! If you don't give a chance to newbies or veterans who need to gain back their skills, hmm, ... think about it. Blame those who don't learn hosting manners. They are all "NewPlayer"s.

Bugs have been erased, game is improved,

Um...It isn't improved that much as you think actually... as far I've seen, 30-60% of stuff aren't available in game and there are still bugs, including sync errors.

I would make a rule of sticking to the Multiwinia Ladder servers as much I can. There are unranked ones so it's not like I have to bring my A-game or anything.

People aren't kicking you because they know you, they're kicking you because they haven't figured out how to password protect their games and they're waiting for a friend. My advice: if handshaking isn't more than 50% complete after ten seconds and you hear chat blips in the background, quit.

This makes sense. In that few minutes after my 1st gameplay today, I didn't think about this. Thank you.

That is correct. Tho, I was writing about the 1st few months after game release.
