Sorry to sound daft, but I swear I just had a chat with the AI!?

It was green and called Flopsy, at the end of the match it said, bloody hell that was close! (which it was, VERY)

I said yes, and is this a real person, it said eh? then It said yes it is, I said prove it and it said no and disconnected.

DID THE AI HANG UP ON ME ! lol

It was just one of thoses, could it be!? moments,

Anyone else had a chat with the AI? Did it talk back lol.

Great game by the way!

Chris

Single player games are also posted on the server list, thus allowing people to join your game :)

I assume you played Single player. There is a bug in the current version which allows people to connect to single player games like multiplayer ones. You were just talking to a real person. ;)

I vote to keep this feature in, but make it so that the host really has no way to see those are humans. No chat, no names.

That's how it's always been - everyone knows the Defcon AI was just Chris hiding out the window with his lappy plugged into your ethernet, don't they? :P

Honestly, based on the sheer volume of these posts, I am afraid that if single player games are made separate we won't have any servers left. I would like the idea of a blind multiplayer game, it could be AI, it could be your best friend, or it could be some random person from the interwebz. You click "Play blind" and it tries to find other people that want to play the same way, then if it finds enough people to start a game, it puts them together, otherwise you face AI. It would only work if a lot of people did it.

I think it's interesting that people equate the AI with another player, in terms of skill.

Normally it's the assumption that the AI is stupider than a person.

Keep in mind that the game was released mere days ago, so, aside from beta testers, players needn't be much better than the AI, and may in fact be worse.

i am preferring also to keep that feature!!
but at least:

if you host a MP game, this game will appear immediately in the server list, as normal. but...
if you host a SP game, this game will NOT appear immediately in the server list. it needs to have some delay!

for example... you host your SP game, setup your game configs, have 20 more secs until it will be listed in the server list.
