Just a question though, is the crates settings defined yet? I assume they'll be the default ones, although I would like to note that Basic crates could be more competitive (if probably less fun)

To answer the question, yes, I'd mail it to pretty much anywhere, although location might impact the amount of money I'd be able to spend in materials for the winner's prize.

Also, that was Second Life, and I made the scrabble board you can see sitting at the bottom there, if that counts as a creative talent. And my screen was not lame, it did 2048x1536 ;-; but I have a 24" widescreen flatpanel which I don't entirely hate instead now.

Are you capable of ever saying anything positive?

Unfair Tournament?

Postby GreenRock » Wed May 06, 2009 1:41 am

I seriously appreciate all you are doing for Multiwinia, Jelco. It's awesome. but isnt a tournament a little unfair? Im predicting Xander, or one of the players from the top ten will be the winner, for obvious reasons. I respect all players of multiwinia, but im just making my statement heard. Please make me understand if I'm wrong.

So your problem is that one of the best players would win the tournament?

And that's unfair?

I'd place my wager firmly in a Myst direction. xander's not signed up yet, and would be screwed in KOTH and CTS.

I agree with Phelanpt, the best players winning is the whole point, is it not? Even though the rest of us do all have a chance if we play well.

I only joined because one of the four people on this Earth who is lower on the ladder than me joined, so I stand a chance on not finishing dead last. Free wins for the (m)asses!

Are you talking about me, by any chance? Because, just so you know, the only games I manage to win are either not dedwinia or unranked. I'm just not lucky with that. And I stink

That, and Myst is a better dom player than I, and (depending on where we start), beats me about as often as I beat him on the blitz maps.

If the list ends up full, people can still drop out before May 10th like I promised, and then new people can join - but if the list has 32 people in it, I will not allow further signups. The point is that my current tourney system gives me 112 matches with 32 people, and that can only get higher with more people - I'd like to avoid that. :)

Jelco

Damn you Jelco! :P
I was planning on signing up closer to the weekend.

The point of this tournament?

All im saying is, why are they having a tournament if they know whose going to win? What are they trying to prove? There's already a leaderboard. Im not being pecsimictic, if that is how you spell it, but i would be all for a tournament if they did not have a leaderboard. But we DO have a leaderboard, and we know whos the best, which is the goal of a tournament, right?
Anywho, there are also prizes. Now think, who is getting the prizes? The winner of course. And who are the usual winners? BINGO. Im not trying to be a troll or to be mean, but I am making my point heard.
