BIG resolutions - help

Postby elexis » Tue Apr 21, 2009 7:18 am

I need to to temporarily resize multiwinia to 2500*whatever to take a screenshot, but y computers maximum resolution is 1680*1050. I tried to edit the preferences but the game reset them to my max resolution when the game started. Any Ideas?

Try setting a bigger virtual desktop size (don't ask me how do do this on Windows. Maybe trick it by adding a second monitor and telling it it has a higher resolution.)

I tried extending my second non existant desktop, which apparently worked because i lost my mouse for a while, but even in windowed mode multiwinia wouldnt resize greater than my laptops resolution.

Can you increase the size/resolution of your second non-existant desktop and maybe declare it the primary display? That SHOULD convince MW that higher resolutions are available. Of course, good luck starting and controlling the thing then :)

controlling shouldn't be too much of a problem; i need a pic of the sky

you cannot make another screen the primary unless it actually exists, the option is greyed you, so it the option to treat both screens as one big screen.

what i can do is carefully move the shortcut over to the non-existent screen and then run the game. the problem then is that i cant see anything at all, and thst the maximum virtual res is 2048X*** which isnt enough

See, if this were a while ago I'd suggest to use RenderPosterResolution, but that's been disabled for a while now...

So my new suggestion is to just take lots of sequential screenshots and stitch them together; it's how I did my many huge panoramics (including the mammoth 360x180 degree pano)

So that's why it takes a bloody age to load then.

Never mind, I've found a workaround that doesnt require such a huge resolution.

Hang on, if that's 360 degrees and it's taken from where I think it's taken, where is the red portal?

Stretched across the bottom of the image?

Your right, for some reason I thought there was a master spawn point in the middle of the trunk ports.
