But it was the beginning of a sentence.

I'm not sure if that applies to names. I can be wrong though.

You know how some words have capitalization, such that it doesn't matter when they're used, they just have capitals? Well, that's kinda like this, except it's specifically lowercase.

It doesn't have to, since names are already beginning in uppercase. But in this case... I think it applies, but it's a matter of opinion.

Nope, I'm pretty sure xander is allowed to say it's wrong. You know, it is his name and all.

It was stupid of him to have a lowercase name in the first place!

Us two-uppercase-letters-in-our-name guys should stick together, by the way. You know, fight evil, randomly attack 'simple' people who only have one pathetic uppercase letter in the beginning of their name... Attack the source of evil - people with no uppercase letters in their name....

why does it matter that I spelled his name with an upper case x? Either way it's still x right?

Oh it matters. This is one of the things all newcomers to the forums must learn. How else could a thread on crate luck be completely derailed into talking about xander's name, without him even posting? :P

well let me put it this way, would he prefer me to spell it with an x,capitol or lowercase, or csmfrt, rednax, derxan, or something 100% random? I really dont see why it matters lower or upper case... its still xander either way.

In xander's case it's preference, but there are cases where it matters. If you write MRNA instead of mRNA a lot of people will pause before figuring out what you meant.

But some will never know what you meant before googling it.

Edit: Nor after.

My name is spelt with a lowercase "x" in all cases. If you really need an uppercase letter at the beginning in order to satisfy your grammar-nazism, add an "Ale" to the beginning. I probably won't respond to it, but that would also be my name, and it would start with an uppercase letter.

In terms of the other examples that you give, "csmfrt," "rednax," "derxan," or something 100% random are not my handle. In the same way, "Xander" is not my handle.

Well, regardless, whatever he wants me to say his name as, I'll do so. Upper or lower case x.
