You do realize that the thread you just replaced as the first non-sticky one on this page is about this same subject, right?

maybe he's just emphasizing the point that there really isn't anyone online. And the other topic is losing it's focus

I think the following is needed to have more people on-line:

1. We need to be able to build custom maps / modules for this game.
2. I seen a few threads about running Multiwinia on Linux. It runs and install just as it would on Windows using wine. http://appdb.winehq.org/
3. For the sort term. Maybe something like Multiwinia Sundays where we all go on line for a few hours. This way any new people joining would not see a list of empty servers all the time.

Point 1 would transform this game. Counter Strike Source seems to have got it right. However it need not be that complicated at all. A simple Maps folder within the games profile folder would do. And a very simple map editor where we could either start from a set of templates or from scratch. The editor could then save the new map as 'MAPTYPE_NAMEOFMAP_BUILD.dat'. For example Domination_Landofdoom_20090211-1.dat

We could publish custom maps on line and the user (us :-)) could download them an place them in the folder manually. A small website could be set-up so we could rate maps to weed out the crap that some people just to spam.

I'm willing to help out where possible. I have updated http://appdb.winehq.org/ for Multiwinia so people running Linux can know what to expect.

Does the above make any sense? :?

If you're going to propose this, it would probably help the community if people don't actually sit around in the lobby waiting for someone to join a server - sometimes you need to start. (This is more of a general comment than a personal one.)

Indeed, I'll see you on-line

Your not wrong and apologies for re-raising the same topics however it does seem to be the answer to peio80 question.

Jelco: Is it possible for your ladder or dedwinia to collect information on when people are playing (was well as where in the world) over the course of a month. Because with that info we will be able to see exactly how many people pay, when they play and what days. The info could go a long way to answering this question that keeps popping up.

Or is this already being done and i missed it.

thanks bert.
Hmmm. Due to circumstances, I play very rarely, mainly on weekends during daylight hours. According to the statistics I am playing on the rightdays, but peak time is between 4 and 10 am. Maybe I should go nocturnal?
