Umm, no. Three matches is till the minimal number required to get the maximal possible score. Only if really many people register, that number will be bumped up.
To reiterate, the default rules are:
- all but the worst four games get discarded
- of the remaining games, the best three count
So you can get by with three matches and a fourth match can't hurt you and is recommended.
If really many people register, this may change to
- all but the worst five games get discarded
- of the remaining games, the best four count
And if only a handful people register, to
- all but the worst five games get discarded
- of the remaining games, the three four count
The server will, of course, remind you about the actual rules in effect, and I'll post them here and on the Wiki, too.

Actually, Martin Mir emailed folk yesterday to confirm their participation, he noted that it had been changed to best of five.
Mind you, he also said it would take place on thursday the 28th

On email, Martin Mir wrote:As you are aware the tournament has been extended from 3-9pm this Thursday 28 November. The winner will be the person with the highest score over 5 games rather than 3 games. Last minute change.

So, your third, fourth, and fifth worst games get counted? Interesting system.
Also, what is a KEY ID? I can't seem to find mine.

The servers have been started, the tournament is on! There are four, each running one of the four maps. It's your decision which maps you want to play.
As far as I have been informed, there's 16 players. That should be plenty to let everyone play against various opponents; therefore, anonymisation has been disabled.
I'll babysit the servers a bit. Good luck!
Edit: Oh yeah, the leaderboard will be available here: http://dedcon.net/dedwinia/tournament/t ... board.html
It's anonymised, so keep good track of your own results.
And as a reminder, the full rules are here: http://dedcon.net:8000/dedwinia/wiki/Lo ... nament2008
