I think this thread is going horrendously off-course.

I am surprised that this hasn't turned into any kind of Mac vs PC argument. Am I just out of touch or did that religious war end?

Anywho, I think the point is moot. Nobody's going to win an argument about OS likes or dislikes. What I'd like to know is how to use Wine to get Multiwinia working. I tried downloading it, but I didn't meet with any success running the demo under it. I've used Crossover to install it, then went to the "C:" drive and pulled the installed folder. Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks a bunch.

Eruaran: once again, welcome to the internet, the land of exaggeration, misquotation and people being loud and angry. Stop replying, the argument stops - I think you've made your point and I think everyone else has too. If you want to wait for the Linux version before buying your copy, so be it - personally, I trust IV to release it eventually, and I'm quite happy living with wine (or rebooting) for now.

Wrong.

Wine does not require windows. You do not have to have a copy of a windows disk. You do not need to have any of the Windows OS on your system.

Wine allows you to run many (read: most) windows applications from Linux. You don't even necessarily have to use anything proprietary, at all, to use windows applications via Wine.

Yup. It's an implementation of the Windows API, not an emulator. For once the recursive backronym is actually true. :P

I don't have personal experience with it, but try this thread, and searching for wine in this forum.

Hey thanks! I'll do some searching around and see if I can't get all the errors I'm getting fixed. ANYTHING is better than sitting and reading this same old whiny argument people have.
