You're suggestion wouldn't work.

Granted, it's been a few years since I've needed to sneak games onto another computer, but it used to work for me.

If you install steam directly on the Flash Drive, then all the files Steam needs are on that drive. It's like installing it on your C: drive, but then you unplugged it and took it with you haha.

Maybe Steam has changed since then, but it's worth a shot.

If there are any extra files that need to be in My Documents or where ever else, you can just tow them along on the flash drive and drop them in the appropriate places when you need to play. When you are done just delete them yourself. No trace left.

The problem with Steam's portability is that offline mode won't work. That's a pretty big problem because it isn't uncommon for networks to not allow Steam access to the internet.

Good news,

I while back I added the --NoProfile switch ;)

ATTENTION: Use this on Multiwinia not the autopatcher. Autopatcher don't have that switch and thus will continue to use Profile folder.

Oh sweet!

It works like a charm. Performance is bad on my school computers with Darwinia so I'll have to play this on low resolution but that's ok. I'm just hoping the network will allow me to host/join games. Defcon allowed me to do both so we'll see.

thanks for the tip frenchfrog (insert thumbs up smiley here)

You rock.

Especially since I was told such a thing wasn't possible. :)
