At this point, I find it unbalanced and fairly pointless - on the maps where I can win, I can win against anybody following the same tactic - and on defense, there is just about no action required to defend successfully on most maps, just have to dump blocking airstrikes in the right place. I don't think Multiwinia has the depth required to pull off a full attack/defend gamemode... other RTSs manage it because of the huge array of units available, but I think Multiwinia is much more suited to the other 5 incredibly fun modes.

I'll see if I can't rectify that...

assault would be funner if both teams had bases, no time limit and to win you have to take over the enemies base

that could be a new game mode...

You mean like Blitzkrieg?

You could make a Blitzkrieg map that functions exactly the way you describe -- put three flags in each base (plus the home base flag), set up defenses on each side, and go for it. Don't put any flags in the middle.

The question was asking which of the gametypes you didn't like, and thus didn't play often because you disliked the rulesets. That's for the vote anyway.

I never warmed up to Blitzkrieg either for some reason, and I have yet to finish a game of it. Rocket Riot I enjoy... at least against the AI. Though I can agree with the statement that it would seem to drag on and on...

My favorite gametypes are KOTH and CTS, and I find I play these maps the most. Domination not so much, but at least I find it more enjoyable than Blitz or Assault.

yeah that would work out perfectly. didnt think of that. hopefully it will be possible in the map editor whenever it comes along

I think there need to be assault maps that don't rely on the insane amount of turrets. Games based around the effective placement of your Darwinians are much more enjoyable that games based around whether the attack is any good at destroying turrets with amours. Of course, there should still be turrets, but how about having them as starting/periodically given power ups instead?

I voted Domination.
I don't really hate it, but 1vs1vs1vs1 is boring; 2vs2 is already another thing.
I wander how could be 2vs2 Rocket Riot... :?:

about Assault:
Fort Zulu is probably the haredest Assault map, sice you have to figth OR 6 MG turrets OR 2 MG and a flamer turret.
Less turret-spam maps would be ideal, maybe with more defenders.

Some of you may find DOM a bit simple in the gameplay and that is something I do not totally agree with : with crates and some well designed maps you can feel the need of strategy and also reverse the battle at your advantage.

DOM is very fun with those crates and just needs to be a lot... larger ! A lot more spawnpoints and huge maps could be a good starting point.

I played one game of Rocket Riot against humans, nad haven't touched it since. I just don't enjoy it, it feels too static and teh fighting isn't as focused or enjoyable as it is on DOM or ASLT maps.
Blitx is also something I rarely touch, and I fail at it horrendously. I haven't found a ASLT map with Armour I can hold as defenders either - it does seem like as long as the attacker can wait for armours to suicide bomb with, they can just take your turrets out, then use sheer weight of numbers rather than any tactical ingenuity.

IMO I don't like Rocket Riot, games last too long due to the rockets being attacked and held, and Flanking is one of the only strategies implied in the game type (I don't like being flanked across the entire map, clearly).

My vote goes to capture the statue. Its too easy to get overwhelmed and i always lose. I dont mind too much, but i like the others more

Rocket Riot. Both times I've played it I've managed to completely fail to acknowledge the other guy's existence, one of those times I even got away with it and won. It's just that boring.

Blitzkrieg did not amuse. It stood between that and Assault, but Blitzkrieg "won", because of, well, because of just about every reason written here. I guess I don't think it's a bad game mode per se; it just proved not to be my thing. Also, to add insult to injury, the AI doesn't seem to have a clue about how to handle the smaller maps.

At this point, I'm torn between Assault and Capture the Statue. However, my first pick is Assault. I can never manage to set off the WMD's on defense no matter what I do. Granted I managed to "almost" it, and I probably would have had I given more support towards the ally. I feel I can only beat defense maps with actual coop play, as I am WAY too slow to act when it comes to other maps, and God knows I can't even play the two-on-one maps... >X(

The rocket riot rocks!!!!!!
