Special Edition Darwinia manual problem

Postby Viking » Thu Sep 25, 2008 6:50 pm

Probably most of us haven't bothered unwrapping Darwinia (not that it's rubbish but because we already own it) but I did.

First thing, on the 'on the e-Sofa' middle part of the Darwinia manual it is mostly just black paper with a few blue extracts dotted over the page. I know this should be a cut out newspaper page with a Dr. Sepulveda interview.

And on the final page where it should say 'Problems getting the game to run' it says 'Problems getting defcon to run'.
Subliminal advertising? Easter Egg? I leave it to the courts! :P

What's the problem, mate? It's a joke. A jovial utterance. Jest. He is, as they say, 'kidding', in the non-goat-related sense. There was a misunderstanding about the joke in the past, sure, but the mere reference to it isn't an up-yours to the allens of the world, and snarky comments and grudges don't help anyone. I'd construct a ship command post and Sir Walter Raleigh over it, if I were you.

I'd better not mention that the back page with the controls is slightly different as well then. :P

Pages 8 and 9. Should show a newspaper cutting.

The slightly altered back page (now shows icons rather than the mouse gestures and the commands slightly different)

And a bit of subliminal advertising...

Just compare them to your own or the pdf manual online.

Glad to see someone somewhere spent a minute flicking through to see if they were ok...

At least it's not the "Tack Manager" any more.

That was quite tacky.
