Ants slows down game considerably

and also, a 30-minute domination on Leap of Faith last night gradually got down to 10fps towards the end, even with no extra activity on screen.
Anyone know the reason for tthe decay? No ants, not many forests, didn't matter where I was looking, so was CPU-limited.

Souls have their part in the lag job, but I am sure there is also a misconception at some point that leads the game to work mostly in a bottleneck algorithm.

Despite this that is true that the way the souls are currently floating all around does not bring very good stuff : we do not see them in high altitude, they are pretty useless unless you have UFO collector... Maybe having mass souls floating all around is just a bad idea ?
