And obviously using the holodeck would NEVER end in disaster or the digital enslavement of mankind. Ever.

Sorry for the unnecessary image, insofar as any Pro-Kirk poster could be unnecessary. Just roll with it.

Pro-Kirk imagery is never unnecessary -- Kirk is the greatest Star Trek captain ever. Period.

Children, all of you! No one that grew up with real Star Trek could possibly believe that a swishy Frenchman is better than Kirk. Kirk beats the crap out of the bad guys, and sleeps with the girls. Picard "negotiates" with everyone, and is probably gay.

Lies and lies! All lies! Picard is a Star Trek God, and is definitely not gay, he's just very good at controlling himself. :P

Having only seen 2 episodes of TOS and 4 of TNG, (and nearly all of Voyager) I cannot participate in this discussion. However Janeway is awesome in her own right. I have no idea how she compares to the rest of them until those series rise to the top of my Netflix queue.
Some people talk because they have something to say. Others talk because they have to say something.

Having watched every episode of Star Trek, including movies and the animated series, I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt the best captain was Sisko. He was a good man, he was willing to compromise his principles to save those people as needed (Romulans into the Dominion War), and he had the coolest ship ever, a war ship, plain and simple.

Sisko is no Kirk, but he is certainly miles beyond that nambly-pambly nancy, Picard. And the animated series is crap. I am surprised that there is someone other than myself that has actually sat through the whole thing.
