Pathfinding & InGame Music

First thing, Darwinia is the most fun i had for years on my computer, but it lacked two things, Pathfinding was non-exist and there was no music during the game (except winning...) so for all the people in the beta... is the Pathfinding improved? darwinians take NORMAL paths?
and music?
thanks for helpers.

I think every beta tester accepts a non disclosure agreement when they get chosen, maybe even before. That means that they can't legally answer your questions.
So either wait for the game to come out, or go for the public videos that IV and reviewers have been putting up.

I'm not in the beta (although I was once accused af breaking the NDA *looks at xander*) but it looks from the video's like that the multiwinians still dont know their way around their own world. But judging by the pictures of levels that I have seen, the walk-in-a-straight-line-or-dont-walk-at-all pathfinding would be adequate. This game will require some fast thinking and quick plan changes, and I will be good to know where your multiwinians will be without looking at them, which isn't really possible when they are off on a path-finding mission.

You also had music during level intros, and the world map background sounds, if I remember correctly.

Stricken Souls totally had music in it. In places. OK, maybe tiwce in total.
Also,
this. Note what's going on around 0:19 and 0:24.

Just out of curiosity, why are we even debating whether or not there was music, as if it would make the game better? IV made an artistic decision not to include music in the game. Instead, they created a very effective, minimalist ambient soundscape. It was an artistic decision. I suppose you could criticize it as an artistic decision, but certainly not as a gameplay decision, nor is it something important that Darwinia lacked. Games don't require constant background music to be good.
As to pathfinding, we have been over that so many times that it is like beating a dead horse. Why don't you search the forums for all of the reasons that Darwinia does not have pathfinding?

xander... i saw what you wrote, but can you give me a proof by one of the developers? i wanna see a writting proof that they say that the pathfinding in Darwinia was shitty because they wanted it's shittiness...
And please stop saying this: "IV made a decision bla bla bla" all over posts it's so annoying... companies suppose to get feedbek, both positive and negative... so stop bashing the feedback...
And about the music... well i know they made it as an Artistic Decision... but i felt that it's a bit missing so I hope they add both music and improve pathfinding in Multiwinia (tough music is not so important i can always use my iTunes...).
BTW that's the only negative feedback i got for this game, which is very minor, i haven't enjoyed a game so much for more than a year...
p.s - sorry if i got writing mistakes my english is kinda lame...

I believe what everyone on these forum is trying to say is something like this:
Pathfinding in darwinia is not necessary and potentially annoying in multiwinia. If you haven't got this yet, then get over it.

How about no? IV created a game with no pathfinding, for whatever reason. It might be that the job of putting pathfinding in the game was just too arduous at the time. However, the game was created without pathfinding, and the levels were designed with that in mind. Quite frankly, pathfinding would break the game in some places (Mine and Escort come to mind -- parts of those levels require that you manage DGs by hand, and would be either too easy, or impossible, if pathfinding were implemented). I keep saying that "IV made a decision bla bla bla" because, clearly, they did. It is in the games they created. So, either learn to like it, or stop playing Darwinia.

He has a point though, the Darwinians aren't supposed to have path finding, it's way it's designed. If they've decided to change that for multiwinia then they will have. If they haven't, they haven't. Some have mentioned it before, a small minority, and Introversion has stood by what it's done. You don't have to like it, no one is holding a gun to your head afterall, but it's not going to be changed as it will require quite a substantial recode.
Now while people have become short with you on here they have been polite overall, you don't like it. We get that, it's not going to change, you need to get that. At this point this topic has been done before and it usually ends the same way, the one saying they want it getting increasingly rude till the topic is locked and they are potentially banned. So please just accept the difference of opinions, that it's not going to be changed, and let's leave the topic to die.

Dear
Blu,
I am deeply unhappy with the overall composition and colour in your sketches and street paintings. Until you provide me with written proof that was your intended design I shall ignore the facts you considered them finished pieces of art and shown no intention of changing them recently, and as such, will continue to display my dislike and request you change them.
Yours Sincerely,
Montyphy.

Dam... i just said my opinion, you need to be more friendly to coustumers if you want em' to buy, the only reason im giving feedback is i want to help the company make a better game (don't start to flame me cause i said that, i still think Darwinia is the best game i played more than a year+!)
i ASKED about Multiwinia
so just say it won't change in Multiwinia no need to bash.
p.s - Sorry if i annoyed anyone, i didn't mean to i just wanted to know thoes two things about Multiwinia.
p.s 2 - you really ban people for things like i said? you may lose costumers like that...

Which we're not allowed to talk about. So any questions you might have about multiwinia will remain unanswered until game release or until the devs decide to answer it.

No. But people are banned if they become too rude.
