(Suggestion) An aptitude for sewing? [Tournament]
HELLO ALL o_o
One of the many things I am well known for is fluffy Darwinians (exibit a). I am interested in running a tournament for when Multiwinia is released. The prize is likely to be next to valueless, however, this is not the point.
I have RATHER A LOT of excess fluff and stuffing and such like from my previous fluffwinian escapades, which I had to call an end to due to the fact that making so many of them really puts a drain on you. I would like to see this fluff put to good use, and I have been recently sewing one or two more fluffy creations. Thus, I have had an idea. IV generally like the idea, but they are not sure if it is entirely feasable at this time, so beware, this may all be scurbbed. One main thing I need is numbers.
I would like to have a tournament, ideally at or very close to the time of the release party (because this is the sort of time everyone that would even be interested in fluffy darwinian toys is likely to be in close proximity) with a fluffy prize up for grabs. The twist, however, is that in order to participate in said tournament, you must first apply, and then you will be issued with a "make your own fluffwinian" kit, likely to be available in several colours. Then, upon turning up to an event, you'll be issued with a handfull of numbered badges (based on what number your fluffwinian is) and you must seek out your opponents and challenge them, the victor claims a badge from the loser/losers. At the end of the day, the person with the most badges that are not their own will be the winner, and will be able to claim a 'prize' (not sure what this will be yet) although of course, all participants get to take home their fluffy toys so really, everyone's a winner and hopefully everyone can have fun. If you already have a fluffy darwinian then you can also simply bring it along and take part with that. If you have more than one, you'll have to decide which will represent you!
This topic is to GARNER GENERAL INTEREST in the idea of this, the poll being to try and isolate out general positions and whatnot. If the tournament is moved to be online due to a lack of feasability I'm really not sure what format it will take, but I'm sure it would be much more boring. Watch this space for additional information.
edit just for clarity, Fluffwinians are actually really quite easy to sew!, plus I'll make a guide on how to etc so pretty much anyone with a bit of free time can do it!

Well, I would be interested, it sounds like a lot of fun, I've just never done any sewing apart from when I was 11 or so in High school.... My mother and my ex can sew but I don't know if they'd have time to help me with making my own fluffwinian. It could be an interesting challenge though certainly....
[Other, although I voted for the 3rd option]: "I would like to take part in a meetup tournament at any time, given enough notice" (provided it's in September) as I should be in London around that time. Preference would of course be for at the release party if it would increase the chances of getting an invite.
However, my Fluffwinian shall have to be my representative's representative as I choose my faithful companion Domo to be my right-hand man.

Getting multiple kits is a possibility, though understand that I'm intending to do this at personal cost (cost of materials and postage). Plus I don't have infinate fluff, it depends on demand.
If there is (plenty of) excess then I might take extra kits to the party to give out/sell for peanuts (p&p is going to be the main cost for me), but at the moment, we'll have to see!

Interesting so far, although interest seems generally quite low SAAD ;-;
Also I picked other cuz I got tired of clicking show results.
Also so far it's about 5 (or 7) people who're interested in an online tournament and 7 people who are interested ina party oriented tournament so far ;-;
Interest is torn - maybe I should try to do both! (not inconceivable)
