DO YOU HAVE A WINTER HAIR PROBLEM?

Postby presserffg » Thu Oct 11, 2018 11:35 am

Can you explain more about your hair. i am confused how your hair can have combination patches of dry/healthy.

Dyed hair will definitely be less healthy than undyed hair. I am guessing the difference between the "combination" is because the healthy part is where it is not dyed. And you are talking about the hair not the scalp right?

Long hair especially vulnerable because the ends of your hair can be as old as 2 years or more depending on the length of the hair and growth rate. Those closer to the scalp will be healthier and better nourished with the natural oils coming from the scalp. The ends are the oldest and most abused. just like a baby skin vs 70 year old.

When you go to dye your hair next. Tell them you want it lightened... (depending how many shades lighter) but DO NOT USE BLEACH. Bleach is the hair killer. comes in a blue or white powder usually. Also the hairdresser always uses a milder peroxide some colorists may use a higher peroxide to achieve faster results but it is bad for the hair.

I always put off my hair dye because i have to waste almost half the day at the salon. hair dye is slow for me because the colorist is very considerate, no bleach, low peroxide so longer developing time. See if you can find a better colorist.

If it is serious, do see a Trichologist.

As the years pass, ceramide production declines dramatically. Without substantial replenishment of ceramides, the mortar that holds the skin-cell bricks together deteriorates, and the skin moisture barrier becomes greatly compromised.9,14,16

The result is a thinning of your skin—with noticeable wrinkles, dryness, roughness, and even infection.14,17-19

Although ceramides are present in many of the foods we eat, including rice and wheat, they do not naturally occur in sufficient quantities to optimally rejuvenate aging skin.14 This means that slowing and reversing skin aging requires effective supplementation.
