Generally they place an order with us, then place an order for the printed stuff. Often they don't even pay for it immediately so we can't handle their order until 2 days later (when the bank has processed the payments). Between the placing of the order and the processing by our system domains occasionally get registered by another registrar, so the processing fails after which we need to contact the customer to figure out the best solution. A lot of people apparently believe that simply placing an order entitles them to the stuff they attempt to lay claim on. Instead of waiting for the confirmation the order's been processed, they assume (and assumptions kill!).
