Omians wrote:Any way of having the Cam Stations being able to control doors in a section of the Prison the Camera is in? i work at a jail but it works pretty much the same, they have different areas for different inmates, alpha is for new arrivals Quads is for ones that have been there awhile, in Alpha there is a station for guards that look out at inmates in their common area they hang out during the day but there is a computer they have that lets them unlock each inmate cell without having to walk up to it and use their key

Quads has a lot of inmates and Subsections but it has it as well but has a station that lets them unlock doors as well, then there is central control that has access to all High secturity doors and when an intercom button is pressed at each door central control can look at each door to see who pressed it and lets them through if they have clearance

Edit: with the Central control you can put up more high sec. doors and let staff move a bit more freely, the remote unlockable doors the jail uses are comparable to the solitary confinement doors in the game, but in the jail i work at all the doors are like this and are remotely controlled even the inmate cells, the public area of the jail has standard doors and staff areas are key card controled

xander is correct in that there's other ways to gain more visibility for suggestions. That said, you may want to add to the discussion here. Linked in this post, was some confirmation from Chris that the door lock system was going to see some upgrades, namely in the form of servos or some kind of door central control. Electronic doors have also been discussed in the past.

I would say you get some of the most attention here. Whenever I see a new post in the blog I check it out hoping that it's the new Alpha

Good thing I get an email from Introversion the moment a new Alpha is released; so if I didn't get one, I know that new posts here will not be the next Alpha 8)

New Prison Warden here!

I have a problem with a prisoner.

At first he got busted for possession of a weapon. So he was supposed to spend time in Solitary. But I think he's bugged out. My guards won't do anything with him even though the Todo task says "Escort to Solitary"

And now his sentence is up and he's still not doing anything.

I've tried searching him, but it doesn't work. His sentence was 3 years, but he's now at 3.3 years.

What can I do?

The trees are still causing problems. When I build a building where a tree used to be, the stump still blocks objects even when inside! Please let me remove the treestumps (and if there's a way that I haven't spotted, it should be clearer)

Again, this is not the appropriate place to seek support---diiscussion of bugs, feature requests, and other suggestions belongs in the Prison Architect Developer Forum. Please read this topic on how to post a suggestion or question, and please try to search the forum before you post. It is likely that someone else has already had your idea, and it would be better to respond to an older post than to create a new topic.

That being said, I suspect that the items you want are not "missing," but simply hidden by the new UI. Click the little "+" on the bottom right of the menu displaying the objects to expand it.

It sounds like you are looking for a system that allows Cam stations to control doors in certain sections of the prison, similar to the system you described in the prison where you work. Such a system would involve security and access control. I wonder how the system works in the case of driver's licenses, for example fake oregon id seems to me to be a much better help than the official one. While I can provide a conceptual overview of how such a system might work, note that specific implementation would require working with a professional security integrator to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
