Uplink has a very similar gameplay problem compared to Subversion once you know how to hack a bank. To me that's very similar to the "shortcuts" Chris is talking about like shooting guards. Nevertheless Uplink was an awesome experience, although a one-time experience IMHO.

P.S.: The presentation is really awesome! Can't wait for the paid alpha (if I understood that right, there will be one this year already?)

Chris has a wife you know? Women are pretty good with keeping track of money. And last time I checked, IV was a two person company, and if Mark gets canned, it would be a ONE MAN SHOW. A guy and his wife can't keep track of their own finances? With all the great financial automation software out there today, I find it hard to believe (that Mark is worth his weight)...

I get were you come from, because it certainly seemed like Mark' involvement with the games is purely financial. But you should not underestimate the work that goes into say for example, getting you game on xbla, or taxes, expenses, etc.
If Chris like to make games and Mark is good with the other stuff. and they can get along, then who cares?

Not to mention, they are like, friends right? And maybe his wife, like, has a job? :P

Anyway, I am a huge Dorf Fort fan and decent-sized Bullfrog fan, so I've been excited for this from the trailer's release. Really happy to see some gameplay and hear about an alpha this year (soon hopefully). I really love the emergent gameplay that DF has and from the video, (the shower shanking scene in particular) it seems PA will have plenty of that. Didn't like the character sprites at first, but they kinda grow on you. One thing I wondered after seeing the death-row guy from the story, will prisoners actually serve a sentence or is everyone in there a lifer? I'm thinking it would be interesting late in the game to deal with appeals, lawyers, transfers, etc. Seems to be a good bit of potential, can't wait to play it.

nice idea, I like that! Also, people that go in for a light offense and then get life in prison because they get involved with gangs.. would be really sweet if those stories emerge as well.

sigh That's disappointing. I really don't get Twitter... I've never liked it... I think it works backward to the way I believe information should flow... Anyway, I find it very unfortunate that the news blog is slowly dying... I use Google Reader to tell me when there are new articles on the blog and that has worked really well for me. I don't want to join Twitter just to get really short links that point me to the actual content of news... I will be a sad day when the blog actually dies...

Firefox Live Bookmarks for the win. Great if you never have anything to say about anything they post.

I can't imagine ever using something different. It's impossible. This is the only convenient way.

Am I the only one that doesn't know what an RSS feed is or how it works?

You are the only one who doesn't know AND isn't smart enough to search about it.

Basically, an RSS reader checks all your websites for you, and tells you which ones have updated (including titles and in some cases some of the body text). It also links you to the post.
And RSS feed is the part of the website that is written in a specific way so that the RSS reader will be able to interpret it. For an example of how an RSS feed looks like click on Mas's link.

I heard Mas Tnega was into some harcore SEO. You could get a useful piece of advice on search engines, ask Mas. Better PM for not creating excessive posts here.
