This is pretty awesome, I downloaded it myself and tried it, it's pretty cool.
I have so many ideas now, one of them being get a better webcam (the one I have is only 320), connect my computer up to my TV.
Then have a chess board, and instead of pieces, have small card markers (each having a different symbol). Then write a program which will draw 3d virtual models of chess pieces overlayed on the video image.
Could do other board games as well, monopoly, risk etc.

I added playing with this to the end of my list of tasks, I'm building a planet renderer at the moment, so I may tie that into this system so that it'll render the planet in the middle of your room.
I'll post piccies if I do

That would be awesome, or render a whole solar system, or a whole galaxy, then stand in the middle of the room and pretend your Obi Wan Kenobi looking for planet Kamino.
but maybe just start with a planet.

Wonderful, I use professional 2008, so I'm sure I'll have lots of fun with that ¬.¬
And yes, it would be rather awesome to render a whole galaxy, not quite sure if my level of detailing system is *quite* up to that... yet

I done this, using BuildAR (A simple program which allows you to assign models to markers, but not much else)
However it's very twitchy, small camera movements will make models disappear and reappear. And it doesn't allow identical markers, each model has to have it's own marker.
I really want to get the code working so I can write my own stuff, ideally I would something based in the .Net framework, because i'm not very good with C++.
