How on earth did I miss this topic?

Anyway, I almost bought a G-15, but went with the Eclipse II. Oh well.

Cool, I'm still working on Real Time Rendering, and that wonderful pdf that's floating around the net, Advanced Graphics Programming Technics using OpenGL.

Saw the photo of your bookcase from another post. I don't have quite as many C++ books, but I'm working on it. :D

It is not a matter of how many books you have - ;)

Well, actually it is, if you're serious about learning. For instance, Byron has all the Scott Meyers books, I have only the first one. Almost any serious c++ developer worth his salt has most of the books that Byron has. It's not a question of how many, but which ones, by which you can judge the pedigree of a serious dev who knows his stuff.

And one of these days, people will remember a most valued member of the Uplink forums and somehow commit the following to memedom:

"Almost Impossible to trace! I'm on Dynamic IP"

"Someone hacked my forum. I have contacted my lawyer"

"very clever, your trying to get me to reformat my HDD, clever, clever. Now to bussiness, do you know how to fly an aeroplane, helicopter, or any form of aircraft?"

"You probably can't do a loop the loop at 35000 feet without crashing. I can"

I agree - to a degree. Any serious developer has read most of the books.
I don't think you need to keep mostly anything but reference books (and not all books make good references when you've already read them) - A library could be a great help on the rest
