Well I, and my game programming friends (admittedly only 2 others who I know IRL), all program with C# because of XNA, which of course is easy to use for people who've never done any Gfx programming before and runs on the xbox :)

Yah, C#/XNA is a great framework for getting something up and running fast... though I personally I prefer perl/allegro. Slow as hell at runtime, but very fast to get a working concept. Which is usually as far as I get. :P

XNA is good and awesome; but there're good reasons that commercial quality games don't use it too.

Not to mention that it won't give you that sweet true indie reputation you simply get by also supporting Linux and Mac :)

Indeed, though I wouldn't be surprised if XNA is ported to Mono sometime soon... it's feasible considering how far Mono and wine have come, though not worth it when there are [L]GPLed libraries available that are almost as easy to work with :)

...and I could do the same in Allegro or SDL. What's your point? :P
