Next in line: Thomas Henry Huxley.

"Huxley" is already a game in production. :)

Honestly, so far I still really like both "Virtual Selection" and ".War".

Richard Dawkins seems to be quite prominent in the evolutionary debate nowadays - maybe name it after him? Carries on the theme - also connects to the mentions of genetic algorithms in the original.

Porkin' Dawkins - religious folks possibly secretly wish their invisible best friend would do this to the chap
Dawkins' Drift - kinda reminiscent of Rorke's Drift (a battle; zulus vs brits) and genetic drift (the influence that chance has on the survival of gene variants)

Too hungover to think of more...

I love Dawkins but I don't really see a strong connection of his work to the game...

'evilution' lol. Only ID could get away with such a cheesy name for a game.

He's often got the right idea, but he can't argue a point to save his life. It ends up sounding like some angry, bitter rant on a forum. In fact, just like in the Introversion Lounge..

Names...

Postby ManE » Sat Jun 23, 2007 12:23 am

Please, no War or Dawkins in the name, one worst than the other!

Battle always plays the good substitute for war, Capra (Fritjof) for Dawkins.

Still enjoying Darwinia and Defcon immensely, thanks for being.

I Like Evilution and (R)evolution, why not (R)eviLution ;>

mine would have to be "Blast" or "Battling"

see ya...

Here's a brand new meaningless word I thought of recently:

Dawardd

When you decode it, it's pronounced "Da Wards" or "War in Dad" or my favorite, "Award Indies".
Everyone likes new words. It's those pesky definitions. This kinda retains some non-pronouncable Darwin in it.
I wonder if it decodes into someone's phone number? It would make a nice vanity license plate.
I don't know how to make the trailing 'd's look like an echo, but there's lots of font graphic ideas out there.
Anything with 'ward' in it inspires insane hospitalization (asylum). So maybe two words:

Dawardd Asylumm

I like "Selection". I think martin suggested it.
A little twist to it would be "Logical Selection", but that isn't quick and snappy.

How about "In-Formation"
