Just hope to yourself that your English teacher wont move to Jamaica with all your coursework forcing you to do it all over again.

I think it's a wonderful thing when people feel so passionately about their work. The vision driving the work can be incredibly inspirational and motivating.

The days were long, spent mainly in learning more of the intricacies of their existance or around the fire talking and thinking.

Fire- the great gift their creator had given them. It hurt to get too close, and yet it was beautiful.
They had but two ways of getting the natural light- through the entrance to their cave, and through the hole in the roof.

They were still prisoners, for although they had no enemies persay, the mighty Bugs still roamed the plains, wandering and feasting on the pixel shaders and corrupting the textures. They were mild, friendly beasts, but rather oblivious, never noticing the Darwinians they crushed with their bulk.

It was to be another 400 generations before they stopped talking about Johnny, the Darwinian who Thought He Could, and how he tried to escape their valley. He only made it four steps before a Bug destroyed him, carrying him away mashed on one of its six legs. His screams continued for 2 hours.
It was to be a few hundred generations beyond that before Sepulveda sent the Lightbringers to deliver the Darwinians to their promised land- for while the Darwinians were not yet ready for the world beyond, neither was it ready for them.

Shwart!!, you have to use a direct link to the image rather than a link to the php file. Alternativly, just change the image tags to url tags to make clickies easier!

Does that make it the proto-protowinian? And, yet again, congratulations!

Heh, I've just been reduced to a 5-year-old, playing with two little fluffy squeaky Darwinians! :P

Someone asked on a thread for a fluffwinian sprite. I hadn't read this inspiring post from Chris, and will post it shortly. One of the most pleasant aspects of Darwinia is the sense of origins, simplicity, essence. I have a project for a mod based on The Book of Genesis - one level for each day of Creation. But it probably won't happen in the short term.
