jelco the galactaboy wrote:Chris, you do realise that you should probably whip up another game in a couple of weeks during the development of Subversion? Else you won't have anything to start with after Subversion, and now you can just say to the community that Subversion took a few weeks longer to develop...
But that would require Chris to consume 250x the recommended dosage of caffeine while watching a 24 Box set in one sitting again.
For that 'flash of inspiration'
xander wrote:Xocrates wrote:So that means Defcon is <the game formely known as a B-side on <the next game>>
No, it is <the next next game>.
In summary:
Uplink = Uplink
Darwinia = <the next game>
Defcon = <the next next game>
Subversion = <the forth game> [sic]
Updefwinia = ???

Darksun wrote:Actually, Subversion is <the next next game>. Based on the first newspost where the terms <the next game> and <the next next game> were first encounted, Darwinia was <the next game> and the other major project (we now know as subversion) was <the next next game>. Defcon was mentioned as something Chris whipped up in a week, and was originally going to be a bonus B-Side for Darwinia.
I'll link to the post if I can find it
Edit: Found it!- Chris got a massive flash of inspiration, coded solidly for around 18 hours a day, and produced a complete game in 7 days, single player and multiplayer, by stealing copious amounts of code from <the next game> and <the next next game>. This will probably show up as a B-side on <the next game>.
- In May this year Introversion hired an old friend called Andy Bainbridge to work on <the next game> with Chris. Andy is sufficiently different to Chris to ensure that <the next game> will not be anything like what you are expecting. We believe this is a good thing.
http://forums.introversion.co.uk/defcon ... .php?t=314
actually if you look at that example post again he says chris stole code from <the next game: darwinia> and <the next next game> which at that point was subversion because defcon didn't exist! so:
uplink = uplink
darwinia = <the next game>
defcon = defcon
subversion= <the next next game>
GENERATION 22:The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.
xander wrote:The what is <the forth game> [sic] that Chris mentioned? If Subversion is <the next next game>, then Defcon must be <the forth game>, but that doesn't seem to fit! I am so confuzzled!
xander
defcon = <the 7 days game>
supdefwinia = introversion games
where is <the forth game> (sic) mentioned?

I can't find the original post, but I did find the google cache.
That post makes reference to <the next game> (Darwinia), <the forth game> (sic) (Subversion), <the next next game> and <the third game> (which, I think, are both Defcon). Again, I am confuzzled.

So, to recap:
<the game> == Uplink
<the next game> == Darwinia
<the next next game> == <the fourth game>
<the third game> == ???
I am so confuzzled... 0_o
So, when is <the sqrt(-1) game> going to come out?
Oh, and as the local whiney Mac bitch, these will all run under OS X, right?![]()
