In our latest video Mark and Chris show off some of the incredible ships created by the first batch of play testers and get their hand's dirty with some asteroid mining…
Don't forget to wishlist the game on steam - it makes a massive difference to us when you do that
The Last Starship - Update 2
Re: The Last Starship - Update 2
Mirroring
- A lot of starships are going to be mirrored around the X-axis
- I suggest making that easy/automated
- E.g. like Blender's mirror-modifier
- And then mirroring can be turned off, for the final 20% where the starship is not going to have symmetry
- Perhaps support 4-way-symmetry as well
Rotation
- You have a long, narrow starship
- Like a 30cm-ruler
- It only has weapons on 1 side
- What if it's attacked from the other side?
- You could spin the ruler 180°, as a bottle spins in spin-the-bottle
- But flipping it upside down, along the length-axis, would be a lot faster
- Like rolling a bus to the left, until it's on its roof, front windshield still facing the same direction as before
- "Up" would become "down", but that doesn't matter in zero gravity
- It seems to me, that The Last Starship doesn't support this yet
- I think TLS should support this
How does the layering work?
Right now, looks like everything is on the same 2D-plane, and could crash into each other

27 min: Why hadn't the crew already gathered at the airdock?

Re: The Last Starship - Update 2
Somehow I've totally missed any notice on the last starship. Gotta say it looks incredible! I've been missing the ole days of PA alpha releases and I'm so excited to see introversion doing it again. Hopefully I can get into the playtest and try her out.

Come join us on Discord or Reddit. It might make the wait more fun. There's also a wiki once you get in. (These are not affiliated with Introversion; just places the community has created.)
