Jelco, you seem to miss a major point there: the plain text passwords are stored. How else could it be sent to you when you use the "forgot password" link. Try it yourself if you don't believe me.

Nah, it's not spamming if it's not advertising. I've never seen deepsmeg do that. Of course, I've only read a very small percentage of his posts, so it may be that he does, but even then it was a conscious omission.

Yes, pretty new. I signed up long ago but for the larger part of the time didn't do anything with my account. I'm basically only active on the PA forums now and he doesn't really post there. I remember his name from reading the uplink forums every once in a while over the years, so I knew he was "prolific" but there are other ways of becoming prolific than spamming.
